What a Glorious New Year It Will Be!

This is a blog created for Alexis Hakalmazian. On June 28, 2006 she was diagnosed with leukemia (AML). She endured 4 rounds of chemotherapy at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, TX before heading home in mid-November. She is truly an encouragement to all of us.

wow

yes i know it has been an extremely long amount of time since my last update. i am very sorry for that. i have been incredibly busy with school, i started in august and we are nearing winter break, volleyball, i made the team this year but decided that it would be my last, and my new dog daisy, who gave birth to 9 puppies yesterday. everything health wise has been going extremely well, and i am living like a normal teenager. my hair has gotten extremely long and i can actually put it in a ponytail now. my one year cancer free was on october 2, also my dads birthday. Brock broke a bone in his arm a few months ago, and had to be in a cast. but he is out of that now, and is back playing baseball. his birthday is tomorrow. my dad recently graduated from college and will be retiring from the military soon. my mom is doing wonderful as well. once again i am very sorry that i haven't updated in a long time. and thank you all for your continued love and support.

    Hey Alexis!
It's Hailey Wyant. I don't know if you remember me but I played on Hit-N-Run with you a long time ago!! You may remember coming to my house for my birthday party and we were sleeping in tents in my backyard. Anyways this morning my Mom was screaming at me to come downstairs because she heard a voice on the radio (Children's Miracle Network on 103.7) that sounded familiar and she just knew it was you guys. So as I started to listen your dad was talking about how he was at the Navy and he mentioned Jules and right away it clicked!! I was like "Alexis!! Hit-N-Run!!! We used to frolic in the sunshine!! Oh my gosh!!" Then my sister remembered your brother Brock and my whole family was freaking out but, none of us could remember your last name!! My dad said Stephenoplis, Georgopolis, and all sorts of crazy names!! So today during school it was bugging me that i could not remember your last name... and that's not good cause i am one of those people that if i can't remember something it makes me crazy!! I ended up falling asleep in class today and suddenly woke up when i remembered!! HAKALMAZIAN!!!! :]] So i texted my mom and told her cause she is like me about not remembering something. We ended up googling you and finding this site and i just want to let you know that i think you are a miracle!! After reading your blogs and stuff it has made it very evident to me that attitude is everything and having faith in god can help so much. My little cousing Julian was diagnosed with brain cancer in march and it has really changed my outlook on life and having a positive attitude can pay off so much. So I basically wrote you a novel but I just want you to know that I am so glad you are doing so much better and you are amazing!!! :]

    God bless.

    Hailey
