Alexis Hakalmazian

What a Glorious New Year It Will Be!

This is a blog created for Alexis Hakalmazian. On June 28, 2006 she was diagnosed with leukemia (AML). She endured 4 rounds of chemotherapy at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, TX before heading home in mid-November. She is truly an encouragement to all of us.

Please Pray for Alexis!

Please join me for a quick prayer for Alexis while she undergoes chemotherapy for leukemia (AML) at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, TX. She is 15 years old and loves volleyball.

"Lord, Your ways are above our ways, but we know that You hear our prayers. We lift up Alexis to You right now and pray for Your healing and grace. She is enduring her treatment as best she can, but she needs Your comfort and care. Please heal her and allow her to be a living testimony for You. Amen."

Hi Alexis. You and I are first cousins, twice removed, according to the genealogists. In a nutshell, your Grandma Judy's Dad and my Dad were brothers, so I know something about the toughness that comes to you from the Yates clan. The Hacks are tough too, so I figure you will beat this thing. My thoughts and prayers will be with you until you do. Love you. Ross Yates, from Henderson, NV. PS. If you have a computer I would love to hear from you. Judy has my email address.

    Dan, Jules and Alexis,

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Take care of yourself and stay strong. The Doctors at Cooks in Fort Worth are great. When we lived there I knew of a few people that were doctors/nurses there and they are great people. You are in the best hands.

It's been a few years since I've seen you; you were a little girl, now you're a beautiful young woman. If ever there was a strong family, you're in it. And I am confident that you will conquer this awful disease.
I'm thinking of you daily and send warm wishes and hugs.

    Alexis,

Julie, Jenny, Julie's Dad and I have lifted you up in prayer and will continue to do so. You are an amazing young woman and it is my privilege to have been your teacher. I pray that the Lord will heal you and we will give him all the glory for it.
On a lighter note, Julie needs you to hurry and get well so you can run punishment laps with her during volleyball practice...she cannot bear to run them without you! I can't tell you how many times I nearly drove off the road laughing at Julie's rendition of your conversations during volleyball practice or when you were running laps for all those conversations.... Just curious, has the "gauze nazi" cut you any slack? I think of you very fondly and will continue to lift you up to the Lord. I love you, sweetie.
Mrs. Rowlands (Julie's Mom) also your favorite 8th grade science teacher...:)
