What a Glorious New Year It Will Be!

This is a blog created for Alexis Hakalmazian. On June 28, 2006 she was diagnosed with leukemia (AML). She endured 4 rounds of chemotherapy at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, TX before heading home in mid-November. She is truly an encouragement to all of us.

surprise

well, my counts have been recovering very well the last two days, so well that my doctor has sent me home until thursday!!! on thursday i will have my spinal tap and bone marrow pull then i will start chemo again. This is round four so only one to go!!! at this rate the doctors are thinking that there is a small chance that i could be done before thanksgiving so thats awesome news. right now im just enjoying being home again. thanks again for everyones prayers and thoughts and love....they are really helping me!

    okay now that's a surpise!! but haha i have a suprise for you!! yay! and hopefully i can get it here by thursday that way i can give it to you when you're home! because that would be totally awesome! but if not i will most definately come and give it to you on sunday because I HAVE TO COME AND SEE YOU AND GIVE IT TO YOU! i can't wait any longer. and shoot if i'm this excited about it and i don't even have it yet i'm sure you will be estastic!! well i will most definately come and see you wednesday after volleyball because tomorrow night we have a game! but i will talk to you later!! i love you!

    Yo! Greatest Great-Niece Hakalmonster,
    Glad to here you are back home for a couple of days! Like I said before and I will say it again...YOU ARE MY SUPERHERO! I hope you have a cape at home and some terrific looking (?) tights, cause you will need them! When you say things like "spinal tap" "bone marrow pull" and "3rd or 4th round of chemo"! ! It sounds like you are saying, "well, everybody I have to get my haircut on Friday and I have a dentist appointment I have to go to, shucks!" You are so nonchalant about all of this! I know for a fact if it were me that had to go through this stuff, my attitude would be a hell of lot different than yours. You are teaching all of us, myself especially some very helpful things like patience, grace under fire, and a lot more! I want to thank you for letting me just marvel at you! Have fun, rest, and lots of food and snacks while you're at home! Say HEY! to your Mom and Dad for me, tell them I send LOVE AND PRAYERS, their way too!

    hey kiddo. i havent seen or talked to you in a while. glad things are still goin good for you. so i was goin thru old notes from last year and i came across 5 or 6 from you. you are one crazy kid! lol. most of em were talkin bout A.S... if you dont know who that is, think back. think long and hard and maybe itll come back to you. oh and one was talkin bout baby face. i talked to him like a week or two ago and he said he hopes youre doin good. i thot that was really nice even tho yall didnt really kno each other. well ill talk to you soon hopefully! love you and hope you really like syd's suprise. idk if you got it already but its exciting! lol.
